Our meeting was rather productive. If you want to get involved with national SWE, it is $20 a year and it opens up a lot of opportunities!!!

 

We introduced people whose birthdays were in the winter or the summer!

Emily Meyer won the jacket this week.

We will have a different winner each week so keep on coming.

If you want to purchase a SWE jacket they are $20, and you can send an e-mail to Mel about them.

 

Our SWE homecoming candidate is Tess Fuller!!!!  Go on banner web today and vote for her. (Kristen Hawkins is also running, if you don’t know who else to vote for.) I will be sending out another e-mail later to remind you to vote.

We talked about committees, shoot me an e-mail if you still want to join a committee. They are a great way to get involved and potentially hold an office next year. The committees are:

We talked about the TI Luncheon on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, during 5^th and 6^th hour. This is a great way to network and perhaps get an internship, and who doesn’t like those. Plus, it is yummy free food. Send me or Kristen Hawkins an e-mail if you haven’t already signed up. This is a great way to get SWE’s name out on campus!!!!!

 

We talked about participating in Race for the Cure. It is at 7am, on October 6^th. Send me an e-mail if you are interested in participating. It will be a lot of fun and we are looking for some girls to help us make paper airplanes.

 

Megen talked about adopting a platoon, we got a lot of volunteers to send e-mails to troops. If you are interested shoot me an e-mail.

 

Dana talked about doing a gun shoot again this year. It is currently set for October 21^st, and no experience is necessary. We will be signing up for it next week!!!

 

WEE is currently scheduled for December 6^th-7^th. A lot of Rose girls went to WEE when they were in high school and this is a great way to help out high school girls and show them how cool engineering is. If you live in a Freshman dorm start talking to your friends about hosting girls. We will be sending out sign ups in a couple weeks but it never hurts to plan ahead!!!
