ROSE-HULMAN RACQUETBALL CLUB CONSTITUTION
 
 

ARTICLE I

PURPOSE

The Rose-Hulman Racquetball Club is designed to allow people of all skill levels to play against each other and hone thier skills in the game of raquetball. To teach people who want to learn how to play racquetball.
 

ARTICLE II

MEETINGS

Section A. Meetings are to be held at least twice a month at a predertimined day, time and place. To discuss how the club is doing and if there are any changes that need to be done.



ARTICLE III

QUORUM

Section A. A member of the Rose-Hulman Raquetball Club is a person who has attended at least four(4) meetings per academic quarter or plays raquetball with a member.

Section B. Quorum shall be two-thirds(2/3) of the members of the Rose-Hulman Raquetball Club.

Section C. Quorum shall be at least two(2) officers, the president, vice-president, or secretary.

 

ARTICLE IV

OFFICERS

Section A. The President shall preside at meetings.

Section B. The Vice-President shall preside over meetings in the absence of the President.

Section D. The Secretary shall notify members of upcoming meetings and events. He/she shall also take minutes of officer meetings. 

Section F. Officers are listed above in order of succession.

Section G. Any officer who needs help with his/her responsibilities may form a committee.

Section H. Officers shall be required to attend at least six(6) regular meetings per academic quarter.
 

ARTICLE V

ELECTIONS

Section A. Elections shall be held once each academic year, not earlier than the first meeting of March and not later than the last meeting of April. A majority of two-thirds(2/3) shall be needed to elect an officer.

Section B. Only a member who has attended no less than six(6) meetings during the previous academic quarter and who plans to remain at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for the term of office desired by the candidate may be elected to an office.

Section C. A special election shall be held to fill an office at any time an office becomes vacant other than at the normal election time.

Section D. A special election may be called at any time by a majority of the officers.

Section E. A special election is won by a majority of two-thirds(2/3).
 

ARTICLE VI

IMPEACHMENT AND REMOVAL FROM OFFICE

Section A. Any officer who does not attend the requisite number of meetings during the course of one academic quarter may be impeached, unless a vaild excuss is given.

Section B. Any officer who fails to perform the duties of his/her office may be impeached at any time at least four weeks into his/her term of office.

Section C. The motion to impeach an officer must be unanimously passed by the other officers.

Section D. A vote for removal from office shall be taken at a regular meeting where quorum, excluding the officer in question, is present, no later than two weeks after the impeachment. Said vote must pass by a two-thirds(2/3) majority.

Section E. Should the vote for removal from office pass, a special election shall be held at the same meeting to fill the vacant office.
 
ARTICLE VII

AMENDING THE CONSTITUTION

Section A. Amendments may be proposed by any Rose-Hulman Raquetball Club member.

Section B. Any proposed amendment must be approved by a  majority of the officers.

Section C. Ratification of amendments must be passed by majority of two-thirds(2/3) at a meeting at which quorum is present.
 

ARTICLE VIII

RATIFICATION OF THE CONSTITUTION

Section A. The Rose-Hulman Racquetball Club Constitution must be approved by a two-thirds(2/3) majority at a regular meeting where quorum is present, as these terms are defined in this constitution.
