Recycling

The Office of
Environmental Health and Safety located in the Facilities Operations
building encourages our students, faculty, and staff to recycle on a
regular basis. Classrooms, offices and commons areas throughout
campus are provided with recycle containers.
We are part of a
recycling coalition that is administered by Indiana State
University. Their recycling center processes the ‘raw materials’
brought to their location for all recycling coalition members.
Members of the Recycling Coalition include: Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology, Indiana State University, Vigo County School
Corporation, Pfizer, St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Sisters of Providence,
City of Terre Haute, Vigo County Public Library, Ivy Tech, Hamilton
Center, and Union Hospital Health Group.
Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology recycles: Newsprint, Slick Paper (magazines
/ brochures / flyers), Cardboard, White Paper, Colored Paper,
Aluminum Cans, #1 and #2 Plastics (soda / water / milk / juice
containers).
In addition, we have
conveniently placed 96-gallon green containers in the following
locations.
· Behind Logan Library
· N.E. Back Entrance to Moench Hall
· SRC
· Behind Hatfield Hall
· Behind Facilities Operations Building
All recyclables must be bagged and tied prior to placement in
recycle containers. Each bag must contain only one type of
recycle. When placing items in the recycling containers
please do not overload the bags containing your materials.
