Climbing trip to either Hoosier Heights in Bloomington, IN or Climb Time Towers in Indianapolis, IN this comming weekend. the day, time, and location of the trip will be determined at a meeting Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the Chem. lecture hall, E104.
At one time the only way to go climbing was to go outside and find a nice
big mountain and have at it. A true climb was to climb the entire
mountain, and practice was gained by using short routes and climbing to
a certain point. This method of climbing could be dangerous and
was not accessible by everyone. People still climb entire
mountains, but more often the shorter routes are used. These
shorter routes were done more often, and soon indoor climbing arenas
began to appear. Today climbing is a very safe sport that is still
fun. The climbing club at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
strives to seek out fun and local indoor and outdoor climbing locations.
Some of the locations that we have found are listed on this site. If you would like to join the climbing club, please contact Danny Sing . Even if you've never climbed before you can still join
the climbing club. We accept everyone from the experienced climber
to those who wish to learn.
Meetings to plan trips are Tuesdays when needed in the Chem. lecture hall (E104) at 6:00 PM. If you cannot make these meetings please contact Danny Sing before the meeting. E-mails are sent to club members before trips. To be added to the mailing list please contact Danny Sing.
