Welcome to the Rose Band website! The band program at Rose-Hulman is made up of people who want to make great music and have fun doing it.

Rose-Hulman Band Program

On behalf of everyone in Rose Bands, welcome! The band program here at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years. We invite you to look around our home page to see some of the things we are doing. Here you can find information about the three main bands that are at Rose-Hulman: the Pep Band, the Jazz Ensemble, and the Concert Band. All three bands have weekly practices, but they are informal and a lot of fun! You can contact the heads of each band on our feedback form.

Pep Band

The Rose Pep Band is a student directed group that plays at all home football games and men's and women's basketball games. The Pep Band frequently teams up with the DePauw Tiger Pep Band to rock the house!

Everyone is welcome to join the Pep Band, so come out for one game, or come out for all of them! The Pep Band is known for free pizza, and cold beverages are available at every game.

Rehearsals are held Thursdays @ 7pm in the Band Room.

Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble (usually just called the Jazz Band) is a performing group directed by Gary Turner. The Jazz Band plays in front of an audience whenever possible and has performed for school functions, dinners, art galleries, and many other events.

The Jazz Band plays a variety of styles, from swing and rock, to samba and gospel. Jazz Band membership is by audition only and auditions usually take place in early fall.

Rehearsals are held Tuesdays @ 8:30pm in the Band Room.

Concert Band

The Concert Band, also directed by Gary Turner, has seen fantastic development in the past couple of years. Last year the band played an open Christmas Concert in the school Union, as well as several informal concerts throughout the year.

Concert Band membership is open to everyone and a large variety of instruments are represented.

Rehearsals are held Tuesdays @ 7pm in the Band Room. TEST
