FAQ’s

          What is a Consortium?

A consortium is an association of universities working together to increase their spending power.

          How can this help?

Through the pooling of resources, smaller private institutions can achieve savings otherwise only available to larger schools.

Is there overlap between the different consortiums?

Yes, the groups offer similar contracts.  To avoid having the buyers review multiple contracts, ADS has selected the preferred vendors and maintains an up-to-date listing to expedite the process for the buyer.

What products and services are covered?

Although contracts are added and old ones expire, many purchases common to universities are covered.  For the most recently updated listing, click here.

How do I make these agreements work for me?

Simply browse the listing to know what is available.  Whenever you use one of these vendors, complete your paperwork as usual (check requisition or P.O).  No bidding is necessary.  The consortium regularly bids these vendors.

What if I find a vendor who can beat these prices?

In most instances, the consortium price, service and quality will be the best available.  At times, unique circumstances will allow an outside vendor to perform better.  Use these vendors, and pass your bid information back to Procurement so that the entire consortium can benefit.
