USPS to increase postal costs for second year in a row; January 2006 saw a 5.4% rate increase

By Dan Wells, Director ADS

Supplies for the new ‘copiers’  should be monitored

and maintained by departmental personnel.  Paper is available with next-day delivery through Corporate Express, item CEB8511, which is shipped with 10 reams to the carton.   Toner is supplied by Xerox as part of the RHIT lease agreement and is  available at no charge to user departments by completing the online order form.

As in the past, departments are asked to keep a maximum of one toner in their area to avoid overstocking.  Additional toners will be kept in stock in the Print and Copy center in the basement of Moench Hall.

For additional information on the copier lease, you may contact Dan Wells in ADS.

During the first half of January, new Xerox equipment was installed in most departments across campus to replace copiers  which had reached the end of their lease periods.

Although the ‘Xerox’ name is synonymous with photocopiers, the new devices offer enhanced functionality for departmental users.

The new multifunctional equipment  offers black and white copying, scanning, and networked printing capabilities.

In order to assist departments with monitoring usage and containing costs, the new equipment will require a user ID in order to make use of its features.      See your department’s copier administrator for

instructions on how to find the \\tibia\ address.

As with past lease agreements, service calls on the equipment should be placed by the department.  If there are any open or unresolved issues, the Procurement department should be contacted to assist in resolution.
