Installing MATLAB R2008a

Installable as: Localmgr (Click here for login instructions)
Install size: ~1600MB for Full, ~860MB for Minimal, ~456MB for MATLAB only
Available from: \\tibia\public\Course Software\Matlab\MATLAB_R2008a\

Installation Instructions

  • Login as Localmgr. (Instructions Here)
  • Click Start->Run and type \\tibia
  • Enter your username and password if prompted
  • Double click public -> Course Software -> Matlab -> MATLAB_R2008a

To install all of MATLAB (MATLAB plus all licensed toolboxes)

  • Copy Full Install.bat to your desktop
  • On your desktop, double click Full Install.bat
  • The program will begin to install

To install only MATLAB, Simulink, Control System Toolbox, Signal Processing Blockset and Signal Processing Toolbox

  • Copy Minimum Install.bat to your desktop
  • On your desktop, double click Minimum Install.bat
  • The program will begin to install

To install Matlab with custom options (this allows you to choose which toolboxes to install)

  • The PLP Key is located in \\tibia\public\Course Software\Matlab\MATLAB_R2008a\keys.txt. Open this file in Notepad and copy the key into the clickboard.
    • Double click keys.txt to open the file
    • From the main menu select Edit->Select All and then select Edit->Copy
  • Double click setup.exe to begin the installation
  • Click Next on the Welcome to the MathWorks Installer. Note that the Install radio button should be selected.
  • In the License Information dialog box
    • In the Name field enter your name.
    • In the Company field enter Rose-Hulman or RHIT.
    • Paste the PLP number into the Please enter your Personal License Password (PLP) box by right-clicking in the input field and selecting Paste. Click Next
  • Enter \\tibia\public\Course Software\Matlab\MATLAB_R2008a\license.dat as the full path to the license file. You may also click on the Browse button to navigate to the license file. Once the full path to the license file has been entered click the Next button.
  • Select the yes radio button and then click Next to accept the License Agreement
  • Select the Custom radio button and then click the Next button.
  • In the Product and Folder Selection dialog box
    • In the Select destination folder for installation field modify the default to be C:\Progra~1\MATLAB74\
    • Under Select products to install unselect the License Manager and any other toolbox you do not wish to install. The default is to install ALL licensed toolboxes.
    • Click the Next button
    • Click the Yes button to create the MATLAB installation directory.
  • Under the Please select the options you would like to use click the Next button. You may select or deselect any of the options shown.
  • Review the Installation options and then click the Install button to begin the installation process.
  • If the Product Configuration Notes dialog box appears take note of any additional configuration steps you will need to take to complete the installation. For example, to configure the Real-Time Windows Target you must type rtwintgt -setup in a MATLAB command window.
