Recovery of Deleted Items

It is possible to recover deleted email messages after emptying the Deleted Items if the recovery attempt occurs before the final cleanup process runs. The recovery period is 3 days for all users.

To recover a purged or permanently deleted item and you are within your recovery period:

  • Open Outlook
  • Select your Deleted Items folder in the Mailbox - Your Full Name section
  • Click Tools -> Recover Deleted Items...
  • [Recover Deleted Items From] Select the message(s) you wish to recover then click the icon indicated below
  • The window will close and the selected emails should appear in your Deleted Items folder within a few minutes
