Team,

We have a busy weekend coming up.  Friday we will be going to the Crossroads Dragway, bring your own car and see what you can do.  Also watch the Mustang tear down the track.  Saturday we will have our usual workday, meet at the Mayers parking lot at 12:00 and we will head down shortly there after.  On Sunday we have an autocross in Lawrenceville, Illinois.  This will be the last time we go to Lawrenceville until the Spring, so show your support by coming with.  The RX7 will be in action and so will any team member that bring their own car.  Spectating is free, and you get to ride along with any car that shows up.  See you at any or all of the events!

To all members and alums,

Homecoming is here!  Please join Team Rose Motorsports down by the Red Barn for some burgers and brats during the bonfire.  Then on Saturday, stop by the TRM tent near the football stadium to check out our cars and buy a new 2009-2010 t-shirt!  We are also trying to compile a TRM alumni database on the website so be sure to give us your email address on Saturday.  I look forward to seeing you all.

I hope everyone is having a great year at Rose so far!  Here is a quick TRM update as to what has gone on this year:

-The autocross last weekend in Lawrenceville, IL went great!  The Rx7 performed extremely well.  Even with the pouring rain and no windshield wipers…

-The Mustang is up and running.

-The Porsche rolls and steers.  Only one more small part is needed until the brakes can be installed.

-We have successfully moved into the ATS building at East Campus.  The work areas are great and only need minor work before they are completed.

New website!

All the important stuff from the old website has been transferred over. There will be an update soon with an image section containing all the pictures and videos from the autocross on Sunday.

If you want to be added to the members page, send a picture to Rick and a link to a project page (if you have one).

If you have any pictures from the autocross you’d like to put up, also send those to Rick.

We have a lot going on before the end of the year!  Here are some things you should be aware of:

  1. We are autocrossing tomorrow (Saturday) in Lawrenceville, IL.  If you would like to join us, please meet down by the barn at 9:45 AM.
  2. THE BIG EVENT IS HERE!  The Terre Haute autocross is happening this Sunday!  If you want to help to set up the course meet at the Terre Haute International Airport terminal at 6:30 AM.  If you are just coming to race, TRM will head over to the airport as a group from Rose.  Meet in the large Myers parking lot at 7:45 AM.  This is going to be a huge event.  There are over 110 cars preregistered already.  So if you are ready to race or just want to see some sexy cars hit the track, Sunday is your day.
  3. We will be selling Terre Haute Autocross T-Shirts at the event.  So if you want one (there are going to go fast!) bring $10 to the race.
  4. We are planning on moving our stuff out of the barn and to the new ATS facility near south campus either Wednesday or Thursday of finals week.  Be prepared for more info as the date comes closer.

1. We will be working with the guys of SIRSCCA this weekend to help them pour concrete and fix up their track. We will meet down by the barn at 8:15 AM this Sunday. We should be back around 8PM. This is a great opportunity for us to give something back. Please come give your support and muscle!

2. Please email Evan soon if you want to try and race the mustang on May 7th, at O’Reilly Raceway. Some other things to know about racing the mustang:

  • Those of you who want to race will hear more from me about a trip to the airport to make sure the old ’stang is still in good shape.
  • You will need to be an NHRA memeber to race (But the club will pay for half the fee). If you really want to race the mustang, don’t go out and get a membership yet. Wait for us to figure out exactly who’s racing.
  • The driver is the only person who can be in the car when racing.
  • The event will start around 5:00PM Thursday Night.

3. The Parkland Autocross on May 2nd (Mom’s Day) will also have an accompanying car show. So if you are not racing but want to check out some sweet cars, this is the event for you.

4. Anyone who wants to order stuff from www.solotime.com please let me know what you want. Remember, we get a decent discount (10-15%) on parts. So if you want something, now is the time. Try to get that info to Evan by the end of the weekend.

5. If you want to have any personal stuff powder coated, now is also the time to let us know. We are trying to get some stuff to the Master Blaster in Brazil, IN then off to Hope, IN to be powder coated before the year is out. So think if you have any stuff that could use a nice coating. You will recieve a significant discount if you do this with the team.

6. For those of you who are helping design the Terre Haute Autocross. Remember to have your idea drawn up for next week’s meeting. After the meeting we will all sit down and come up with a single course. Click here for a picture of the course area.

The team went out this weekend to the second autocross of the spring. Several members were able to run their own cars to get 4 to 5 runs in the first heat. Unfortunately several members were not able to run because the second heat was rained out. The Indy SCCA is covering an event for those who did not get to run. We will be meeting on Wednesday night in the Myers building.

Welcome to all of our new members! A reminder, we will have weekly meetings Wednesday night in the Myers lobby at 7:00 and we will also be having workdays on Saturdays.  Be sure to check out the updated Porsche and Pictures pages to see more up to date information!

It is with great sorrow that we announce that earlier this week the son of our advisor, Mike Fulk, passed away.  The funeral and visitation are planned for this weekend in Brazil, IN.  Mike is a tremendous asset, and great friend, to all those in the club and our thoughts are with him and his family.
