F225, Moench Hall
This optional exam is for students who wish to place into CSSE 221,
Fundamentals of Software Development Honors. This course is intended for
students who have substantial programming experience in an object-oriented
language such as Java. Upon completion of the course, students will receive
credit for both Fundamentals of Software Development I and II. Those who have
earned an AP score of 4 or 5 should not take this exam; such students will be
automatically placed into CSSE221. The placement exam will be used to help
students who did not take the APCS exam to decide whether Fundamentals of
Software Development Honors or Fundamentals of Software Development I (CSSE120)
is the most appropriate beginning course for them. Transfer students with
approved transfer credit are excused from taking the exam. All Fundamentals of
Software Development courses are taught in Java.

RHIT Mathematics Placement Exam
TThere is no specific time set aside for RHIT Mathematics Placement Exams
during student orientation as placement is primarily accomplished through the
national AP Calculus tests, college transfer credit, and Fast Track Calculus.
Students wishing to write an RHIT Mathematics Placement Exam during student
orientation must make an appointment with the Chair of the Mathematics
