ROSE-HULMAN'S HEALTH AND FITNESS RESOURCE     

 

  NEWS

 

We are excited to announce a new program between Rose-Hulman, the SRC, the Vigo County YMCA and Clay County YMCA.  This program is specifically designed for employees and their families to provide alternative opportunities for exercise and programs to enhance the current SimplyWell Program.  YMCA memberships will be provided at no cost to the employee or their family as long as the employee utilizes one of the facilities (either one of the YMCA’s or the SRC) on a regular basis and averages six visits per month over the ten week academic quarter.  This program will begin on July 1st and participants may enroll during open enrollment (May 1-May 31).

Deb Plummer Ringo, CEO of the YMCA’s and Matt Sinclair, Director of Recreational Sports and Athletic Facilities will discuss this new program.

Please plan to attend one of the following four program information sessions that will be held in the SRC Multi-Purpose Room on:

Friday, April 19th from 11:45 am - 12:35 pm OR 12:40 pm – 1:30 pm

Monday, April 22nd from 11:45 am - 12:35 pm OR 12:40 pm – 1:30 pm

Boxed lunches will be provided.

 As a SimplyWell Program participant the benefits include:

  • Access to both the Clay County YMCA and the Vigo County YMCA facilities
  • A variety of group exercise classes that increase a sense of community and motivation to continue physical activity
  • Child Care for children 6 weeks to 6 years old while parents exercise at the YMCA facilities
  • Teen rooms for youth 6 years to 13 years old that provide supervised activity while adults workout at the YMCA facilities
  • Access to specialized intervention programs to address adult obesity/weight loss
  • Discounts for Youth Sports, School Age Child Care and Summer Day Camp programs
  • Volunteer opportunities

 The benefits for the Institute include:

  • Enhanced and more effective SimplyWell Program
  • Less congestion at the SRC during peak hours
  • Improved connection of RHIT employees to the community
  • Improved employee/family satisfaction

 The benefits for the Vigo County and Clay County YMCA’s include:

  • Sustainability
  • Prestigious partnership with RHIT
  • Increased volunteer base
