The Management Studies Program Requirements

Students pursuing a Management Studies Certiificate must take the following courses:
- ALL of the following Core Courses.
- SL 151 Principles of Economics
- VA 303 Business and Engineering Ethics
- RH 330 Technical Communication
- SL 350 Managerial Accounting
- SL 351 Managerial Economics
- ME 316 Fundamentals of Engineering Management
- TWO of the following Management in Society Courses (in
addition to the core courses.)
- SL 171 Principles of Psychology
- SL 290 Business Law
- HU 306 Japanese Values and Technological Development
- VA 356 Business and Government Regulation
- SL 366 America's Future
- VA 491 Technology Management and Forecasting
- SL 493 Comparative Managerial Strategies
- TWO courses from the following list. The student may choose to
emphasize a strength area such as quantitative analysis, social
science, economics, or communications. Courses not included in this list may be approved by petitioning the Management Studies
Committee.
- SL 454 Intermediate Microeconomics
- SL 455 Intermediate Macroeconomics (and Forecasting)
- VA 353 Economics of Industrial Markets
- VA 453 The Entrepreneur
- MA 444 Operations Research I
- MA 445 Operations Research II
- MA XXX Any statistics courses
- CS XXX Courses beyond CS 100 in Computer Science
- ME 318 Material Processing in Manufacturing
- CE 303/ME 330 Engineering Economy
- CE 441 Construction Planning, Scheduling, Contracts,
Specifications, & Law
- CE 442 Cost Engineering

- In the case of schedule conflicts, the Management Studies Advisor may approve course substitutions.
