Overview

This document gives step-by-step instructions for installing TortoiseSVN, a Subversion version control client for Windows XP.

Installing TortoiseSVN

Install TortoiseSVN as follows:

1. Login to an Administrator account (e.g., localmgr) if you have not already done so.
2. If you have a version of TortoiseSVN prior to version 1.5.3, uninstall your existing version (using the Add/Remove Programs control panel) and reboot your computer.
3. Login to an Administrator account again.
4. Click this link to the installer for TortoiseSVN and select Run.
   • Note: the window that pops up may be hidden behind these instructions
5. Follow the instructions for installation, accepting all defaults
6. Restart your computer and login to your OWN account (the one that you usually use, NOT localmgr)
