DePauw Overcomes Rose-Hulman Rally to Win in Overtime

Gloria Boxell and the Engineers narrowly fell to DePauw in overtime.

BOX SCORE

GREENCASTLE, IND. --  Rose Hulman Institute of Technology scored in the final three minutes to force overtime, but DePauw University provided the winner in a 2-1 extra time women's soccer victory on Tuesday night.

Julia Drummond scored in the 41st minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead at the break.

Junior Molly Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./St. John's Country Day) provided the equalizer with 2:46 showing on the game clock to force overtime as Rose-Hulman attempted to extend its five-match winning streak.

Drummond answered with the game winner in the 93rd minute to claim the victory for DePauw.

The Tigers outshot Rose-Hulman 18-2 in the match, but a strong effort by goalkeeper Julie Brennan (Indianapolis/ Pike) that featured three saves kept the Engineers in the match.

Rose-Hulman dropped to 7-9 on the season and continues to stand 6-1 in HCAC play.  The Engineers would earn a share of the league title and the top seed for next week's tournament if Rose-Hulman defeats Mount St. Joseph on Saturday at Jim Rendel Field.
