Haute Ind-- Rose Hulman’s women soccer team defeated Bluffton 2-1
Saturday to win their sixth straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference match of the season.
The
Engineers were led by juniors Annmarie Stanley (Warrenville, Ill/
Rosary) and Eli Baca (Sante Fe, New Mexico), as both
scored goals in the contest.
Bluffton’s Katy Wisby scored the first goal of the game in the
seventh minute. Just seconds later, Stanley took the ensuing
kickoff down the field off the assist from junior Molly
Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./Country Day) to score Rose-Hulman’s
first goal.
Baca then
scored her third goal of the year as she knocked in a goal from 10
yards out which was again assisted by Richardson.
Richardson also led the team with five shots, helping the Engineers
outshoot the Beavers 18-6.
Sophomore
goalie Julie Brennan (Indianapolis, Ind/Pike) had three saves
and picked up her seventh victory of the season.
Rose-Hulman
improved to 7-8 on the year and is now 6-1 in HCAC action. The
Engineers are in action again Tuesday night as they travel to
regional power DePauw University.
