BOX SCORE

Terre Haute Ind--  Rose Hulman’s women soccer team defeated Bluffton 2-1 Saturday to win their sixth straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match of the season.

The Engineers were led by juniors Annmarie Stanley (Warrenville, Ill/ Rosary) and Eli Baca (Sante Fe, New Mexico), as both scored goals in the contest.

Bluffton’s Katy Wisby scored the first goal of the game in the seventh minute.  Just seconds later, Stanley took the ensuing kickoff down the field off the assist from junior Molly Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./Country Day) to score Rose-Hulman’s first goal.

Baca then scored her third goal of the year as she knocked in a goal from 10 yards out which was again assisted by Richardson.

Richardson also led the team with five shots, helping the Engineers outshoot the Beavers 18-6.

Sophomore goalie Julie Brennan (Indianapolis, Ind/Pike) had three saves and picked up her seventh victory of the season.

Rose-Hulman improved to 7-8 on the year and is now 6-1 in HCAC action.   The Engineers are in action again Tuesday night as they travel to regional power DePauw University.
