Women's Soccer Moves Into First Place Tie in HCAC

HANOVER, IND. - Rose Hulman Institute of Technology moved into a first place tie in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer standings with a 1-0 win at previously unbeaten Hanover College on Saturday.

Junior Molly Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./St. John's Country Day) scored the lone goal of the match on a direct free kick from 25 yards out with 6:03 left to provide the winning margin.

Richardson led the offensive effort with two shots.  Hanover outshot Rose-Hulman 13-4 overall, with Olivia Selm firing three shots to lead the Panthers.

Sophomore Julie Brennan (Indianapolis/ Pike) provided the shutout in goal to help the Engineers move to 5-1 in league play and 6-8 overall.

Sophomore Anna Vogel (East Greenwich, R.I./ LaSalle Academy) and junior Caroline Andersen (N. Manchester/Manchester) each had one shot for the Rose-Hulman offense.

The Engineers improved to 6-8 on the season and 5-1 in league play with their fifth straight HCAC win.  Hanover dropped to 4-1 in league play and 9-4-1 overall.  Rose-Hulman hosts Bluffton at home next Saturday.
