ANDERSON, IND - Rose Hulman Institute of Technology
moved to 4-1 on the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's
soccer season with a 3-2 victory over Anderson University on
Wednesday.
Sophomore
Anna Vogel (East Greenwich, R.I./ LaSalle Academy) put the Engineers
on the board in the eighth minute with a score on a crossing pass by
junior Annmarie Stanley (Warrenville, Ill./Rosary).
In the
25th minute, Rose-Hulman pushed its lead to 2-0 on a score by junior
Molly Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./St. John's Country Day),
courtesy of an assist from freshman Ally Nelson (Mooresville).
The
Fightin' Engineers capped their first half scoring on a header by
freshman Amy Schleter (Knoxville, Tenn./Karns) that came on a
cross by Richardson.
Anderson
scored twice in the second half with a late charge, but the
Engineers were able to hold on for their fourth win in five league
matches.
Rose-Hulman stands 5-8 overall, while Anderson dropped to 1-12-1 and
1-4 in league play. The Engineers travel to Hanover College on
Saturday.
