Rose-Hulman Falls Just Short Against No. 7 Otterbein

Monica Guzik and the Engineers battled the nationally ranked Otterbein Cardinals before falling 1-0 on Saturday.

BOX SCORE

SOUTH BEND, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman women's soccer team battled seventh ranked Otterbein College to a scoreless draw for much of the match, before a late goal lifted the Cardinals past the Engineers 1-0 on Saturday.

Otterbein finally dented the scoreboard with seven minutes left in regulation to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Sophomore Julie Brennan (Indianapolis/Pike) kept the Engineers within striking distance with six saves, including several point blank stops.

"This was a great defensive effort by us," said head coach Amy Helliwell.  "Julie did an excellent job in net today and we controlled play for much of the second half."

Rose-Hulman dropped to 0-3 on the season and returns to action against nationally ranked Wilmington College on Sunday at St. Mary's College.
