TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology enhanced its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
Tournament hopes with a 7-0 women's soccer victory over Franklin
College on Sunday.
Senior Liz Ridgway (Grosse Pointe,
Mich./Northwestern University) led the offense with her
third hat trick of the season. Ridgway scored her 17th,
18th and 19th goals of the season to retain the HCAC lead in
goals.
Sophomore Molly Richardson (Orange Park,
Fla./St. John's Country Day) added a pair of goals and two
assists to the offense. Junior Kendra Albers
(Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut Academy) and freshman Kaitlyn
Lewis (Utica, N.Y./Owensboro Catholic) rounded out the
scoring for Rose-Hulman.
The Engineers
outshot Franklin 23-1 on the day. Freshmen Julie Brennan
(Indianapolis/Pike) and Mary Ellenberger (Greenfield/Central)
combined on the shutout.
Rose-Hulman
improved to 10-6 on the season and 4-3 in league play with the
victory. The Engineers host DePauw University on Wednesday and
close the regular season with a home matchup with Defiance on
Saturday.
