KALAMAZOO, MICH. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology rallied from a 2-0 second half deficit to force
overtime, but host Kalamazoo College scored with two minutes
left in the final frame to earn a 3-2 women's soccer win on
Saturday afternoon.
Kalamazoo led 2-0 at the intermission, before a
pair of Rose-Hulman goals knotted the match at 2-2.
Sophomore Molly Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./ St. John's
Country Day) tallied the first score in the 73rd minute to
bring the margin to 2-1.
In the 79th minute, freshman Anna Vogel (East
Greenwich, R.I./La Salle Academy) scored her first college
goal to tie the score at 2-2. Richardson provided the
assist on the score.
The two teams battled through the remaining 11
minutes and one 10-minute overtime without a score. In the
second overtime period, Sarah Arnosky scored in the 108th minute to
earn the Kalamzoo victory.
Freshman Aleksandra Kampa (Garden Grove,
Calif./Orange County Lutheran)
kept the Engineers within striking distance with seven saves in
goal.
Rose-Hulman stands 2-2 on the season and returns
to action on Sunday at Finlandia University.
