HANOVER, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology relied on a pair of all-conference performances and
top-six finishes to place third at the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference championships on Saturday.
Senior Rachel Krasich (Westfield, Ind.)
led the performance with a second-place finish. Krasich
tallied a six-kilometer time of 23:20 for her second consecutive
all-HCAC honor.
Sophomore Melissa Rogers (Crawfordsville/Southmont) added
her first career all-league award with a strong sixth-place
finish. Rogers had a time of 24:08 in the effort.
Senior Susan Nickol (Solon, Ohio/ Beaumont
School) narrowly missed an all-conference award with a
13th-place finish in a time of 24:49.
Senior Jill DeClerck
(Palatine, Ill./William Fremd) came home fourth among
Engineers and 17th overall in a time of 25:05. Sophomore Amanda Lundahl (Lake Forest, Ill.)
rounded out the team score with a 35th place in 26:09.
The effort marked the second consecutive year that Rose-Hulman
has earned a top-three finish in the HCAC Championships.
The Engineers return to action at the NCAA
Division III Regional on Nov. 10 at Calvin College.
