FRANKLIN, IND. -- Senior Rachel Krasich
(Westfield) placed first among NCAA Division III runners and
fourth overall to lead the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
women's cross country team to a third-place effort at Franklin
College on Saturday.
Krasich ran a five-kilometer time of 19:22 to defeat the entire
NCAA Division III field at the six-team meet. The school
record effort placed
behind only three runners from the Indiana Invaders running club
in the overall meet.
Junior Alissa Bishel (Chesterton) placed second among
Engineers and 18th overall in a time of 21:19. Senior
Susan Nickol (Solon, Ohio/Beaumont School) also finished in the top 20 with a
19th place in 21:24.
Sophomore Amanda Lundahl (Lake Forest, Ill.) added a 22nd place in
21:43, while freshman Katherine Quigg (Chillicothe,
Ill./Illinois Valley Central) rounded
out the team scoring with a 26th place in 22:08.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Hanover College
Invitational next Saturday.
