TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- College Hoops Illustrated has named Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology seniors Suzy Carlson (State College, Pa.) and Rebekah Forsyth (Farmersburg/N. Central) as two of seven NCAA Division III Women's Basketball "Players to Watch" in their annual preseason preview.

College Hoops Illustrated is an insert utilized in game programs at most NCAA Division I, II and III institutions.  The publication featured the national top 10 teams and seven players to watch at the Division III women's level.

College Hoops Illustrated stated that the "senior tandem has put up some pretty impressive numbers in their three years together."

The award was the second of the week for Forsyth, who was also named an honorable mention preseason All-American by d3hoops.com.

Carlson earned an NCAA Division III statistical national title in free-throw accuracy last season (95.3%) after pacing all NCAA basketball players in three-point accuracy as a sophomore (55.8%).

Rebekah Forsyth -- Selected a "Player to Watch"
by College Hoops Illustrated and an honorable mention preseason All-American by d3hoops.com.

Carlson has compiled 912 points and a school record 232 assists in her career, including 118 three-pointers at a 50.6% clip.  She has also buried 256 free throws at an 87.4% rate.

Forsyth finished ninth nationally in scoring at 21.4 points per game last season and was 10th in NCAA Division III statistics in rebounds at 11.4 per contest.

In her three-year career, Forsyth has scored 1,342 points and grabbed 843 rebounds.  She needs 70 points to become the program's all-time leading scorer.

Rose-Hulman opens to the 2006-07 season at the Franklin College Tip-off Tournament on Nov. 17-18. The Engineer home opener is Nov. 29 vs. Anderson University.
