DEFIANCE, OHIO -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology moved to 2-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference men's soccer play with a 2-0 victory at Defiance on
Saturday.
Sophomore Logan Peak (Stillwater, Minn/Stillwater
Area) and senior Rhys Evans (Lake Bluff, Ill./ Lake
Forest) led the offensive attack as they both knocked in one
goal.
Peak scored his first goal of the season
unassisted in the 42nd minute to help the
Engineers earn a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Evans scored his fourth goal of the season by
knocking in a penalty kick in the 68th minute to give Rose-Hulman
the 2-0 margin.
Junior goalkeeper Andy Kruth (Cedar Park,
Texas/Vista Ridge) picked up nine saves in the contest to
keep the net clean for the Engineers on his way to recording his
second shutout of the season.
Rose-Hulman is now 6-4-1 on the season, 2-0 in
the HCAC, and returns to action October 10 against
conference foe Manchester.
