TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology improved to 4-4-1 on the season with a 3-0 shutout
against Illinois Wesleyan University on Wednesday night.
Junior Corbin Clow (Martinsville) led the
offense with a pair of first half goals. Junior Paul
Bouagnon (St. Charles, Ill./Burlington Central) pitched in
with the final score in the 71st minute.
Rose-Hulman's defense relied on a strong
performance for its second consecutive shutout. Junior
Andy Kruth (Cedar Park, Texas/Vista Ridge) earned the
shutout in goal with three saves behind a strong defensive
effort that resulted in a 13-6 shot edge for the Engineers.
Clow opened the scoring in the eighth minute on a
corner kick from junior Mitch Buffington (O'Fallon, Ill.).
His second goal was courtesy of an assist from
junior Mitchell Ishmael (Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut) from 20
yards out to give the Engineers a 2-0 lead at the break.
Bouagnon rounded out the scoring with a header on
a crossing pass from sophomore Tim Hollingshead (St. Peter's,
Mo./Lutheran).
Rose-Hulman improved to 4-4-1 on the season with
the victory and returns to action at Millikin University next
Wednesday.
