Player of the Week |
TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology tied a school record with four players named
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for
their efforts last weekend.
Football standouts Calvin Bueltel
(Huntingburg/Southridge) and Paul Spreen
(Williams/Bedford North Lawrence) swept the Offensive and
Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping lead Rose-Hulman
to a 27-21 victory over perennial HCAC power Mount St. Joseph on
Saturday night.
Junior golfer Stephanie Harrington (Houston,
Texas/Cinco Ranch) and sophomore soccer player Molly
Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./St. John's Country Day)
rounded out the honorees.

Bueltel
rushed for a career-high 168 yards and two touchdowns to lead
Rose-Hulman past Mount St. Joseph. He scored on runs of 10
and two yards, and his 44-yard sprint on the final drive secured
the victory.
On the season,
Bueltel leads the HCAC with 381 rushing yards and has added
three touchdowns on the ground. He was also named the
Terre Haute Exchange Club Player of the Week, a weekly honor
presented at a Tuesday luncheon at the Holiday Inn of Terre
Haute.
Spreen recorded
eight tackles, including six solo efforts, and recovered a
fourth quarter fumble that helped Rose-Hulman earn the win.
He leads the HCAC and entered this week as the national leader
in tackles-for-loss this season with 11.
The fourth-year
starter has tallied 231 tackles, 57 tackles-for-loss, 18.5 sacks
and seven forced fumbles in his gridiron career.

Molly Richardson -- HCAC Player of the Week |
Harrington paced
Rose-Hulman with a 13th place finish at the DePauw Invitational
on Saturday and Sunday. Harrington fired rounds of 80 and 82 at
Deer Creek Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
Harrington leads the
Engineer golf squad with a scoring average of 82.5 and has two
top-five finishes in four events.
Richardson scored in
overtime to lead Rose-Hulman past Hanover 3-2 on Saturday. She
also had one goal and one assist in a 7-0 win over Spalding.

On the campaign,
Richardson ranks second on the Engineers with eight goals and 20
points. She paces the HCAC with four game-winning goals so
far this fall.
The Engineer
football team stands 3-1 for the sixth consecutive year and
hosts Manchester College as part of Homecoming festivities next
weekend. The Engineers also earned their first win in a
conference opener since 2003.
The Rose-Hulman
women's golf team will host the Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference championships at Hulman Links on Oct. 11-12, and the
soccer team stands 6-3 entering Wednesday night's home match
with Millikin University.
