TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- A pair of Engineer student
athletes were honored with player of the week awards by the
Heartland College Athletic Conference for their efforts last
weekend.
Sophomore Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio/Reserve)
was named the HCAC's Women's Tennis Player of the Week after
compiling a 3-0 record at No. 1 singles and doubles last week.
Danesis had 6-0 and 6-1 wins over Anderson; 7-5,
6-2 victories over Manchester, and 6-1, 6-0 wins over Marian in
singles action last week. Danesis partnered with Meghan
Chann for three No. 1 doubles victories during the week as well.
The women's tennis team returns to action when
they host Heartland Conference foes Bluffton and Defiance on
Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Senior Julie Roebel (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton
Academy) joins Danesis with player of the week honors by
being named the HCAC's Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Roebel scored four of the Engineer's nine goals
during the week, with three of them coming at St.
Mary-of-the-Woods, tying a school record for goals in a game.
Roebel current leads the conference in goals with 5 as well as
points with 11.
The next Engineer women's soccer game
will be against visiting Kalamazoo College on Wednesday at 5
p.m.
