Men's Cross Country Team Finishes 2nd of 13 Teams in Earlham Invitational

Matt Repking placed second overall to lead a strong Rose-Hulman effort.

RICHMOND, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's cross country team placed second of 13 teams, behind only Division I Butler University, at the Earlham College Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Matt Repking (Effingham, Ill./Teutopolis) came home second overall in a time of 26:49 to lead the effort.

"This is one of the best days in the history of Rose-Hulman cross country.  To run this competitively against outstanding teams is a credit to all of our hard work this season," said Rose-Hulman head coach Larry Cole.

Senior Charles Williams (Bloomington/North) came home second among Engineers and 17th overall with a time of 28:07.

Sophomore Stephen Boedicker (Delaware, Ohio) finished 18th overall in a time of 28:11.  Freshman Kyle Beaty (Needham/Triton Central) added a 29th place in 28:42, while freshman Justin Druba (Hanover/Southwestern) rounded out the team score with a 30th place in 28:44.

The Engineers return to action at the Millikin Invitational on Oct. 13.
