TERRE HAUTE, IND. –
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed a pair of standouts on
the all-North Region football team, released by d3football.com on
Saturday.
Junior defensive end Paul Spreen
(Williams/Bedford N. Lawrence) and freshman tight end Reed Eason (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North)
captured second-team all-region accolades in a vote of
d3football.com staff and selected sports information directors.
Spreen captured Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors
this fall, while Eason earned league Freshman of the Year honors in
a vote of league coaches.

Spreen led the HCAC with 19
tackles-for-loss and two forced fumbles, while leading all
conference defensive linemen with 62 tackles. He tallied the
second most tackles on Rose-Hulman's defensive roster and increased
his career totals to 39 tackles-for-loss and 16.5 sacks in three
seasons.Eason led all HCAC tight
ends and ranked third overall with 47 receptions this fall. He
also finished sixth in the league with 535 yards and led Rose-Hulman
with five touchdown receptions.
His efforts included nine
receptions for 121 yards in a Homecoming victory over Hanover
College.
Rose-Hulman finished the
season with a 7-3 record for its best season since 1994. The
Engineers also tallied a 4-3 conference mark for its first winning
season in league play since 1995.
