– Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed three players on
the ESPN The Magazine academic all-district team,
highlighted by first-team recognition for senior Ryan
Robinson (Danville).
Robinson was joined on the
all-district squad by a pair of second-team honorees.
Senior Mike Alto (West Chester, Ohio/ Lakota East) earned
a spot as defensive back, while junior Thomas Reives
(Indianapolis/ Tech) was cited as the second-team
punter.
Robinson ranked second on the
Engineers with 31 receptions for 397 yards and one touchdown
this fall. The civil engineering major increased his
reception total during each of his three seasons at wide
receiver, highlighted by a pair of touchdown catches.

Robinson recorded totals of 58
receptions for 649 yards in his Rose-Hulman career and was named
the team's Wide Receiver of the Year in 2005.
Alto ranked third on the team with
60 tackles and added eight tackles-for-loss, one interception
return for a touchdown, one forced fumble and one blocked kick
this season. The mechanical engineering major was also a
second-team Academic All-District selection last season.
Reives captured second-team honors
after averaging 34.2 yards per punt on 39 kicks, with 12 boots
landing inside the opponent's 20-yard line. The mechanical
engineering major also hauled in five catches for 152 yards and
one touchdown and rushed twice for 15 yards as a wide receiver.
He was twice named HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week in
2006.

Alto, Reives and Robinson helped
the Engineers achieve their first winning season since 1995 with
a 6-4 mark this fall. Robinson advances to the national
ballot, with the Academic All-America Team released on November
30.
