Rhys Evans -- HCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week |
TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology swept the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's
and Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors, in results released
Monday by the league.Senior men's soccer
player Rhys Evans (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) joined
junior women's soccer player Molly Richardson (Orange Park,
Fla./St. John's Country Day) with the league's top weekly honor.
Evans provided the game winning score in a pair of
Rose-Hulman road victories last week that helped the Fightin'
Engineers maintain the top spot in the league standings.
On Wednesday, Evans scored three minutes into
overtime to help Rose-Hulman defeat Anderson 2-1. His game
opening score on Saturday at Hanover helped propel the Engineers to
a 2-0 victory.
Evans and the Engineers have won seven straight matches to improve to 9-5-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play, entering Tuesday's home matchup with Franklin.
He is tied for the HCAC lead in goals with six.

Molly Richardson - HCAC Women's Soccer Player of the
Week |
Richardson scored the lone goal as Rose-Hulman knocked
off previously unbeaten Hanover 1-0 in HCAC action on Saturday.
The score helped Rose-Hulman
move into a first place tie in the league standings at 5-1 and
improve to 6-8 overall on the season.
Richardson previously scored one goal with one
assist in Wednesday's 3-2 victory at Anderson. She leads the
conference with 20 points and ranks second overall in the league
with eight goals.
The women's soccer team looks to move one step
closer to their second league title in three seasons with a home
matchup against Bluffton on Saturday at noon.
