TERRE HAUTE, IND. --
The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men’s and women’s cross country
teams have each earned all-academic status from the United States Track and
Field Coaches Association in results released on the organization’s website.
The Engineer men’s cross country team carries a
cumulative grade point average of 3.335, while the women’s team
currently holds a grade point average of 3.325. All-academic teams
are required to hold a 3.1 grade point average and compete at the
NCAA Division III Regional.
“This award is a tribute to the dedication of our
cross country teams, both in the classroom and in competition.
Nearly 100 cross country teams received this award, but few
student-athletes across the nation have the academic challenges and
opportunities that Rose-Hulman provides,” said head coach Larry
Cole.
Rose-Hulman begins the 2006 cross country season at
the Franklin College Invitational on September 2.
