ISSUES RELATED TO THE PROBLEM

Students need to be willing to accept other students' opinions on what is best fit and perhaps, on what is the best type of curve to use to fit data, on what is a good parameter to use to compare groups, etc.

Faculty need to be accepting of what comes down the pike, e.g., students will try shifts of ArcTan function, polynomials, exponentials, combinations, etc.
