Students can cvonstruct the system of differential equations in 10 minutes if they have been coached to think about Law of Mass Action or rate equations.

The analysis of solving (using DSolve say in Mathematica) and the least squares analysis needs introduction, but if they have had some experience with curve fitting to data this material could be introduced in one hour and bascially assigned for homework over a few nights.
