M.S. DEGREE IN BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

Requirements:
51 quarter hours as follows:
 36 hours – coursework
 12 hours – thesis work
3 hours – graduate seminar

Core Courses:
 AB 510 Physiology

three of the following eight:
 BE 525 Biomedical Fluid Mechanics
 BE 530 Biomechanics
 BE535 Biomedical Optics
 BE 550 Biomedical Instrumentation
 BE555 Electrophysiology
 BE 560 Biomedical Materials
 BE 561 Artificial Organ and Device Design
 BE570 Tissue Engineering

In addition 20 credits of technical electives are required. A maximum of 8 credits may come from 300- or 400- level courses. Candidates for the MS degree in Biomedical Engineering will select a research topic with significant biomedical and engineering components.
