Strike-Out-Arthritis is the national philanthropy of AOII. Since 1967 over 1.5 million dollars has been raised in an effort to
cure arthritis. Chapters all over the United States and Canada hold events each year to contribute to these funds. The Delta Xi
chapter holds the annual Mr. Rose Pageant as its Strike-Out-Arthritis event.
This year the AOII Foundation awarded $111,500:
Arthritis research grants:
A total of $91,500 has been awarded for two research projects for 2009-2010.
Juvenile Arthritis Alliance (JA Alliance) educational grants:
A total of $20,000 for family scholarships and children's activities were awarded at the national JA Alliance conference.
Pandas were also donated through the Panda Project for children.
Arthritis funding:
$20,944 awarded for local arthritis program support in the communities where AOII chapters raised these funds. Arthritis walks
with AOII teams raised $7,025.
